The tale behind WOODROCK'S prefix
My kennel name Woodrock's was granted on 4th of July 2012 by Finnish Kennel Club.
The name is actually the nearest translation of Halkokari (Wood-rock), the place where all our IWSs and I have lived the most of our lives at Kokkola, Finland.
But there is more!
Rock's is actually as a courtesy for Ulla Särmäkari, the breeder of my own very first own IWS (kennel Bevelrock's, Bevelrock's Synan aka Denny). The greatest lady who, over 40 years ago, dragged this little girl into the IWS world and taught me so much I need to know! It is great to have her still being part of our lives.

It is quite emotional to let the puppies leave for their new homes, but this is the moment that really sums it up. Circle of life! This lady in the photo is Ulla Särmäkari, kennel Bevelrock's, who gave me my very first own IWS nearly 30 years ago. She and her daughter took home one of mine from our first HOLLYWOOD -litter.
Wood is also for Woody (Patu's sire - Knock on Wood - Fynder Freethinker) one of the most beautiful IWSs in the world!
