Thank you all!
Thank you all the judges for all the appreciation during the years!
Once again the greatest thanks goes to my parents and my brother taking such a good care of my boys as always when needed,
and all the lovely people (there are so many, but you know who you are) concerned for all these memorable moments during the year,
and Anna-Lena for the greatest companion and just for being there when ever needed!
and Anu & Carina for taking care of our massage service!!

Highs & Lows of 2012
Our year of 2012 has been more than full of great and unforgettable moments,
but in between these lovely moments we have also experienced the darkest ones.
We have been blessed with extremely good luck and happiness, but sadly it is not enough to bring us
the health and strength we would have hoped and wished.
Together after all we did pretty amazing job both in shows and tests!
We finished our show season brilliantly at Helsinki Winner shows;
Patu taking the both Helsinki Winner and Finnish Winner -titles and being BOB -veteran in both shows.
With these wins we also sealed the IWS of the Year -competition with great point difference to the 2nd one;
The is Patu Show IWS of Year 2011 at the age of 8!!!
It is running in the family after all great many of the top placements of this competition are divided among their offsprings:)
We are more than proud of you all!!!
Besides of showing we had also some time to attend on few blood tracking tests.
Totti took again straight 1st prize results in all of the tests he attented during the year.
The most memorable moment is the test where he did absolute wonderful work
by achieving full 50 / 50 points again!
With these great results he is also the Working IWS of the Year 2012 at the age of 10!
My oldies goldies:) Titta will have great large boots to step into next year!!!

08. - 09.12.2012 Helsinki Winner & Finnish Winner 2012 - Helsinki
Helsinki Winner Shows both Helsinki Winner and Finnish Winner show during the same weekend gathered together all together 18 000
entered dogs. Huge amount, but like always these shows were such well organised!
On Saturday Helsinki Winner show IWSs were judged under Berge Karl Eddie from Norway.
Patu took BOS to her daughter Saga and gained both Helsinki Winner and Helsinki Veteran Winner Titles!
On Sunday Finnish Winner Show IWSs were judged after alterations under Annukka Paloheimo from Finland.

04.11.2012 Match - Kannus
We unfortunately do not have puppy shows close by, so we decided to attend on an unoffical Match that was held in Kannus.
This was Tittas very first dog show event, so that is why quite special for both of us.
She behaved absolutely lovely and looked like a real show dog, I was so proud of her!
In the end she ended up being placed BEST IN SHOW 2!!! Maybe there will be something in her:)
Time will tell..but I like her a lot and would not change anything!

13.10.2012 Main Spaniel Specialty - Hyvinkää
The event of the year, Main Spaniel Specialty which is always held in Hyvinkää during the darkest times that we have in Finland. Hyvinkää show ground is not the most pleasant of show grounds, but I think this year it worked the best without carpets at all.
Or did I even notice..
IWSs that were all together 16 there this year were judged under Enrico Adinolfi from Italy. This old gentleman was totally new acquaintance for us and I have not heard that he would have been judging IWSs in Finland before (or neither in Nordic countries).
Patu started by winning the males and then it was bitches Manta being as nearly 11 years old in veteran class. She showed like a dream and ended up winning all the lovely champion bitches. So what did we have, mother and son in the best of breed ring! This was emotional moment even for their breeder Seidi after this was Mantas retirement show. Patu took the breed and Manta was BOS and BOB veteran. Patus son Repe was BM3.
Best in Show veteran was first judged by Diana Leigh from Spain. Manta continued showing her best and ended up being
BEST IN SHOW VETERAN 2. The very best way to end her show career!!!!

12.08.2012 Blood Tracking Test - Himanka
Blood tracking test organised by Jokilaaksojen Mäyräkoirat was held at Himaka or actually Kalajoki.
This special test after two IWSs attended, Totti and Patus son Repe. This was Repes first tracking test ever, it was quite exciting.
The boys did great Totti took Winners Class 1st prize with 47/50 points and Repe Open Class 1st with 46/50 points.
I was so proud of Repe and Eva! Great job!!!

Kuopio Sawo Show was once again one of the biggest show in Finland.
IWSs were judged under Soile Bister Patu taking the breed.
In the group ring he was shortlisted under Elena Ruskovaara among the 6 best dogs.

Perfect birthday at Tuuri!
Me and my mom travelled to Tuuri to celebrate my birthday and naturally to attend on a dog show,
what else would you do on your birthday:)
The day would have been even more perfect if the weather would be have been even a little bit more nice.
It was raining almost the whole day!
Breed was judged by Marja Kosonen from Finland who was absolutely stunned by Patu giving him the most beautiful critique.
FCI group 8 was judged by Leila Kärkäs from Finland.
Patu did stylish work in the group ring with very lovely showing!
This paid off because he finally ended up WINNING THE WHOLE GROUP!!!!
I think this has been one of the groups that have contained the most of the successful dogs in Finland,
so this made me even more than proud of him!!!
It was really beautiful line up of dogs!!! Patu gave me the best birthday present that you could ever imagine!!!

The 2nd blood tracking test of the season was held right the next weekend at Himanka.
This was also the first time when Jokilaaksojen Mäyräkoirat organised test at Himanka.

The show ground Hamina Bastion is totally lovely (as I have said every year),
but Hamina is the furthest place if you are travelling from Kokkola.
We were lucky that Raisa and her family promised to take us her house to spend the night, thank you for that!
We had great time!

This was not end of it, after in the group ring Patu was first among the 10 best FCI group 8 dogs
and finally ended up WINNING THE WHOLE GROUP!!!!!

The second day of our local shows was held at Kaustinen.
This time IWSs were judged by Hans Rosenberg. Patu was BOB!
Our group judge was meant to be Kenneth Edt from Sweden, but suddenly altered before the group finals.
We ended up being judged under Bertil Lundgrend which was not that bad at all!! He also selected Patu GROUP-2!!!!!
We had quite nice weekend in sunny weather!

Home town show weekend! Once it was really great not to need travel so many hours to get to the show area.
This weekend only half an hour was enough!
The first of the shows was held at Teerijärvi.
IWSs were judged under Bertil Lundgren from Sweden who selected Patu as BOB.
The breed was judged under Hans Rosenberg who we all know to be famous about his own IWSs.
He has not been judging Patu before, so this was quite an adventure for us!
I am glad he liked him as much as awarding him BEST IN GROUP 2!!!! Among 22 other dogs!!!

Vaasa International Dog Show is typically held at Botnia exhibition hall that I think is one of the best places in Finland!
It is always really well organised show with good sized rings!

08.04.2012 International Dog Show - Lappeenranta
Easter International Show was held how luckily for us Eastern part of Finland in Lappeenranta.
Place that is in my opinion the most difficult to travel, so we decided to spend some our whole Easter holiday there.
IWSs were judged by Tino Pehar from Croatia Patu taking the breed!

Middle Ostrobothnia Kennel Distric had once again their AGM where they
rewarded the best dogs in several categories.

24.02.2012 Club Show - Lohja
Irish Water Spaniel Club Show was held this year at Lohja, Showlink’s show ground near Helsinki area.
This meant once again a lot of travelling for us, so special thanks to Eva and Matti for letting us stay in their house!
The show ground was nice with good base, but kind of too bare to keep this type of specialty show.
The judge this year was quite well known Saija Juutilainen from Finland,
who has been seeing and judging IWSs in Finland for many years.
This was Manta’s day after first taking BIS –veteran and little bit later also being awarded as BEST IN SHOW!!!! Patu was BM-2.
After the show Patu was officially awarded as IWS of the Year 2011 and Totti Working IWS of Year 2011!!

19.02.2012 Hooligan's STAR -litter was born
Florence Blecher, the breeder of Hooligan's Irish Water Spaniels has been involved with IWSs since 1986.
Totti came from kennel Hooligan’s 2002, since that we have had nearly 10 year email relationship.
I think me and Florence have quite a same ideas, visions and opinions about these curly brown dogs.
How wrong can she be, after Totti has been the most wonderful creature with the most lovable character
that we these days rarely see among this breed.

As he only recently turned two years old, Harley was still in the process of completing all of his health tests. At the moment his thyroid is proven to be normal. His hips have been rated OFA Fair, and his elbows OFA Normal. His sire has OFA Good hips and his dam has OFA Excellent hips. His thyroid and CERF results are pending.

18.02.2012 Patu's Doping Test Results
Patu was selected to be doping tested by FKK at Helsinki Winner Shows on November 2011.
What a luck, after there were 14 000 other dogs also during that weekend, maybe I should start playing lottery:)
After the breed judging FKK doping inspector was standing on the ring side and asked me if I would have the BOB dog.
Naturally I had, like, I am sure he would have seen, after standing and talking there for a while already.
He asked me to take dog and dogs registration papers with me and follow him to testing room.
The doping test itself was just making him to urinate in a cup. Sounds easy but in practice we (not just him) had to work on it!
We were able to collect both A and B samples that were sealed after they were measured. Funny thing was that when
we needed to collect more urine, our sample was left in the testing room totally without any supervision.
The whole procedure took about 2 hours.
Here is Patus positively NEGATIVE results. Personally I would have been interested to see what they really test!

Kajaani INT show, what can I say.
The show that really brings about thoughts, not because of bad arrangements or atmosphere,
but because of weather issues and tempereature that is typically at least under - 20 C.
This year it was not much different, but bravely off we went with Anna-Lena, like did all the rest over 4 000 dogs owners.
Kajaani INT achieved their record in all time!
After alteration of breed judge, IWSs were judged under Rita Kadike - Skandina from Lithuania.
She just loved Patu and made him BOB! Patu was showing himself like a pro and made me really proud once again!
FCI group 8 was judged under Paula Heikkinen - Lehkonen, one of the Finnish judges that I personally highly appreciate!
This is also the reason why I think that what Patu did in this show is one of the achievements that I will really appraise!!

Highs and Lows of the Year 2011
Our year of 2011 has been more than full of great and unforgettable moments,
but in between these lovely moments we have also experienced the darkest ones.
We have been blessed with extremely good luck and happiness, but sadly it is not enough to bring us
the health and strength we would have hoped and wished.
The absolutely darkest shadow covered us after Coops epileptic seizures added to the problems caused by his allergy issues.
During these moments we are more than grateful to be surrounded with loving and caring friends and family.
Together after all we did pretty amazing job both in shows and tests!
We finished our show season brilliantly at Helsinki Winner shows;
Patu taking the both Helsinki Winner and Finnish Winner -titles and Manta being BOB -veteran in both shows.
With these wins we also sealed the IWS of the Year -competition;
The son Patu being IWS of Year 2011 and his dam already 10 -years old Manta being the Best Bitch!
It is running in the family after all the top placements of this competition are divided among their offsprings:)
We are more than proud of you all!!!
Besides of showing we had also some time to attend on few blood tracking tests.
We were able to start our season much later than usually after I wanted to complete my blood tracking judge
requirements as soon as possible.
Totti did not mind about this delay and took straight 1st prize results in all of the tests he attented during the year.
The most memorable moment is from our Regional Championship Test where he did absolute wonderful work
by achieving full 50 / 50 points making him also Regional Champion 2011 and qualified him to attend on
Finnish Championship Test in Blood Tracking!
With these great results he is also the Working IWS of the Year 2011!
