Patu is at the moment nearly 12 years old gentleman with the greatest temperament of all. He is one of the most winning Finnish bred IWS in the history of the breed in Finland. He has stunning barrel shaped body with lovely proportions, steady topline and great bone. He has strong masculine head with lovely almond shaped dark eyes and very long low attached ears. He still at the age of nearly 12 has full dark coat covered with tight ringlets all around. He moves with great reach and drive and with proper rolling. Patu has showed his talent also in field and is Finnish Tracking Champion.
Patu already has one litter in Finland. His daughter and son are also both multi champions / winners and Specialty Best in Show winners. His son like himself is also Finnish Tracking Champion with three consecutive tests in one season and daughter just started with Open Class 1st. This shows three generations of Catankas competing in Winners Class as Patu's dam Manta also achieved the Winners level.
Patu's sire Fynder Freethinker aka Woody, bred by Pepi Barrington, UK, represents the picture of true Irish Water Spaniel. Woody had an impressive show career in UK, Scandinavia and finally in US. He can be found behind the most successful field and show dogs around the world and in several continents. Woody had lovely sweet temperament combined with breath taking appearance that you will never forget!

Patu's dam Catanka Havis Amanda is at the moment 14 years old and still going strong. She has absolutely amazing compact body with great topline. She has stunning impression with small dark eyes and beautiful muzzle. She has long beautiful low attached ears and stunning neck. She also moves like a dream. Manta also still has full coat at the age of 14 with very small tight curls. Manta is also Specialty Winner even still at her veteran age.
